Brittney Herron
Brittney believes the world would be a better place if we celebrated our differences as readily as we teach children at CCM to embrace what makes them unique. We're all on our own journey through life, and no two paths need to look the same. After 15 years at CCM, Brittney’s favorite part has always been its special sense of community. Although she sometimes misses having a classroom of her own, she loves connecting with students of all ages, especially when she hears her name called down the hall or gets greeted with a hug. Outside of CCM, she's an avid Notre Dame football fan, book lover, and proud member of a busy household that includes her husband, two daughters, a very spoiled dog, and a bearded dragon. Family game nights are one of her favorite ways to spend time together, with Netflix games being the latest family obsession!

Jessi Shuff
Jessi believes the world would be a better place if we all made a little more effort to respect and support one another. She loves that at Cornerstone, children are encouraged to become contributing members of their community through kind hearts and helpful hands—a lesson that extends far beyond the classroom. The caring community of staff, students, and families is one of her favorite things about CCM, and she's proud to be part of a team that shares in its mission. When she's not at school, Jessi's happy place is home with her husband, children, and beloved furry family members: Mabel the golden retriever, Bessie the cat, and their newest addition, Bertram (Bertie), the kitten who has everyone smitten!

Stacy wishes everyone would learn the same lesson we teach the children at Cornerstone: take responsibility for your own things and put them away when you're finished! One of her favorite things about CCM is the people, both young and old. Even on challenging days, a hug, a smile, or a child saying “I love you” makes it all worthwhile. Family is everything to Stacy, and she and her husband are grateful to be parents of four wonderful children through adoption. At home, she loves spending time with her family and baking or cooking in the kitchen. Nothing makes her happier than seeing others enjoy something she's made with love!

Riley Smolinski
Miss Riley believes children are far more capable than we often give them credit for. One of the lessons she hopes everyone learns is the value of independence from an early age—even if it takes a little extra time, children can accomplish so much when given the opportunity to try. One of her favorite parts of teaching is watching that lightbulb moment when a lesson finally clicks and a child's excitement says it all. Outside of CCM, Riley keeps busy chasing adventures with her two-year-old son, Emerson. Whether they're exploring parks, playing outside, or finding something new to try, she's passionate about creating fun experiences for him. When she gets a little time to herself, you'll find her binge-watching her favorite shows, shopping, or spending time with her sister!

Miss Brooke believes one of life's most important lessons is to lead with love and respect people from all walks of life. She knows love can take many forms, from a kind gesture to a difficult conversation, but believes we should always treat one another with compassion. One of her favorite things about Cornerstone is the close-knit community and the lasting relationships she builds with students and their families. She feels incredibly privileged to be someone her students are excited to see each day! Outside the classroom, Brooke is a passionate bug enthusiast who believes even the tiniest creatures deserve respect (she'll always stand up for the little guys!). Her happy place is by the lake, where she loves listening to nature, kayaking, playing card games, eating ham sandwiches, and making memories with friends!

Miss Alex wishes adults would embrace the same curiosity we encourage in children at Cornerstone by asking questions and seeking answers, whether through their own research or by learning from others. One of her favorite things about CCM is hearing the unexpected questions children ask and getting to discover new things alongside them. Outside of school, Alex loves Studio Ghibli movies, especially on a rainy day with a cozy blanket and a good soundtrack. Her happiest place is at home with her family, including her parents, two sisters, and three dogs!

Miss Rylee hopes people would embrace the kindness we encourage at Cornerstone, remembering that everyone deserves to feel valued, loved, and worthy, just as Jesus taught us. One of her favorite parts of working at CCM is seeing that spark when a child finally understands something and feels proud of what they've accomplished. Outside of school, Rylee loves spending time with her family, her boyfriend Noah, and her best friend Alayna. She's passionate about art, enjoys talking about God and compassion for others, and can happily chat about Marvel and her favorite TV shows for hours. She also has a growing collection of squishies that she's a little obsessed with!

Ms. Kynadee believes we can do hard things and that mistakes are simply opportunities to learn, grow, and try again. She hopes her students learn that they don't have to get everything right the first time; what matters is having the courage to keep trying. One of her favorite parts of teaching is witnessing those “aha!” moments when something finally clicks, whether it's solving a math problem, making a new friend, or learning to do something independently. She loves knowing she gets to play a part in helping children grow into who God created them to be. Outside of CCM, Kynadee is passionate about Jesus, coffee, the Green Bay Packers, and cheering on her four children in their many activities. Between sports, theater, and serving on her church's worship team, life is always busy, but she wouldn't trade this season of life for anything!

Miss Illaina believes one lesson the world could learn from the children at Cornerstone is the importance of independence—learning to do things for ourselves rather than always relying on others. One of her favorite things about being at Cornerstone is hearing the funny, unexpected things children say and getting to know their unique personalities. She especially enjoys the quieter moments in the classroom, helping children with crafts and Perler beads, and spending one-on-one time with those who are still awake during nap time. Seeing the children's excitement when she walks into the classroom each morning is another highlight of her day! Outside of CCM, Illaina loves volunteering at a summer camp, which is something she's always happy to talk about.

Miss Alayna wishes more people would remember to speak kindly to one another and build others up with their words, just as we encourage the children at Cornerstone to do. One of her favorite parts of working at Cornerstone is seeing how excited the children are to see her and knowing she gets to make a difference in their lives. Alayna is passionate about her relationship with the Lord and loves sharing how wonderful He is. Outside of CCM, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing games, having good conversations, reading, and going camping!

Ms. Richelle believes adults could learn a thing or two from the patience we encourage at Cornerstone, especially when it comes to listening to others and giving everyone a chance to be heard. She also loves teaching children about God, Jesus, and treating others with love and respect. One of her favorite parts of working at Cornerstone is watching children grow and learn, building relationships with them, and enjoying their hugs, smiles, and funny little comments along the way. Outside of CCM, Richelle is passionate about helping children experiencing difficult circumstances and volunteers with Isaiah 117 House to support children entering foster care. She loves spending time with her family, especially visiting her son in Fort Wayne for his music concerts, and cheering on her many nieces and nephews at their sporting events!

Making sure every child feels loved, supported, and valued is especially important to Kendall, who believes that even small acts of kindness can make a lasting difference. One of her favorite things about Cornerstone is being surrounded by coworkers who support one another and make the school such a welcoming place. Outside of CCM, Kendall loves spending time with her volleyball team, whose encouragement, friendship, and fun-loving spirit make them a favorite part of her life both on and off the court.

Ms. Aliyah believes that kindness, patience, and respect are some of the most important lessons we can teach. She loves watching the children in her toddler classroom grow, discover new things, and develop into their own little people. Building meaningful relationships with both the children and their families is one of the most rewarding parts of being at CCM, and she takes pride in knowing that the care she gives makes a difference in their lives. Outside of school, Aliyah’s favorite place to be is with her daughter, Xalea, making memories and enjoying all the little moments of motherhood. Whether they're laughing together, spending time with loved ones, or simply relaxing at home, it's those everyday moments that mean the most to her.

Miss Riley believes some of life's most important lessons start with learning to be kind, share with others, and show appreciation. One of her favorite parts of being at CCM is being greeted each day by smiling faces and little hugs from the children, which never fails to brighten her mood! She loves sharing fun moments with the children, helping them discover new things, and being part of their everyday adventures at school. Outside of CCM, Riley enjoys listening to music, reading, exploring new libraries, and discovering new places and cultures through travel and food. After visiting Florida and Chicago's Chinatown, she's dreaming of a future trip to Japan to experience even more of its culture and cuisine!

One of her favorite parts of working at Cornerstone is walking in each day to the excitement of the children who are happy to see her. Outside of school, Amy is happiest outdoors, especially when she can sit back and watch her chickens. Whether she's spending time with her feathered friends or simply enjoying the fresh air, she loves the simple joys that come with being outside!
